Warm-up excercises: The movement of the planets E-mail
Sunday, 23 December 2007

This exercise expresses our Solar system. Each posture corresponds to its planet. When doing these postures visualise yourself in the center of the Solar system, more precisely, visualize yourself as the Sun. Do the first part of this exercise by inhaling as much as possible and the second part by exhaling as much as possible (respiration of Kevali). If you can not do this at the beginning, breath as it feels comfortable for you. Gradually your lungs become acustomed and you will enter into the rhythm of Kevali.

Stand, legs maximally separated, breathe out. Start this excercise, begin with inhalation.

1.  Saturn.
Bend over your right leg, grab with your hands your right foot so, that your head would touch your knee.

2. Jupiter
With smooth movement adopt the position 'inclination to the left', the hand are parallel to the floor.

3.  Mars
Bend smoothly to the back, lift your hands over you head.

4. Venus
Turn your trunk to the right, your arms are stretched laterally and you fingertips joined.

5. Mercury
Turn your trunk to the left and lift your hands up, the palms are parallel and face each other.
