What is the main difference between magic and secular art?

Secular art expresses the immediate moods and feelings, the superficial sentimental experiences and the subjective perceptions of an artist, distorted by his own unreal understanding. When other people get in touch with this kind of art they exerience similar feelings. These works of art do not reflect deep philosophical understanding and do not transmit any magical atmosphere.

Raphael’s paintings can capture us, but they cannot heal people in the way life giving icons can. Mozart’s music can provoke in us many images and feelings, but it cannot destroy walls, as Yeric pipes can. His music cannot lead anyone into trance and take us to a journey into the spirits’ world, as the shamans’ drum can. Baroque architecture might be majestic and beautiful, but it cannot attract cosmic energy as the cupolas of temples can.

High magic art has very concrete aims: to facilitate the understanding of Godly concepts and to connect us with our Soul and God.

One of the main differences between human beings and animals is that the former strive to create. Of all living creatures on Earth, only humans love to draw, write musical and poetic masterpieces, play complex chess games, study the movements of the stars and use them to predict people’s fate, build beautiful buildings and create plays. The desire to create, to make art is the need of our soul, who requires self development. It is the spark of God!

Orfica art, it is not simply secular art, but creativity dedicated to the Divine Power, to self development and to helping others in their path. Each Orfica masterpiece has very a clear and specific goal. Examples of such masterpieces are the Egyptian pyramids, the cupolas of temples that attract cosmic energy, ancient legends, stories and ancient theatre. This kind of works of art possess special magic powers and can change completely people’s life and that of their relatives.

Magic art has always existed: ancient hunters used to draw images of beasts on which they performed magic rituals by piercing them with spears. In this way, they relied on figurative art to have success in hunting. This is only an example of simple magic.

Orfica art is the highest form of magic art. Its purpose is to help each person to understand the concept of divine and to connect with his soul and with God through creating art.

Mind is becoming increasingly dominant - Nus, Fronema - are more characteristics of men, whereas memory - Mnemy, Estesisa and Timosa – pertains more to feeling, heart and soul. By losing their poetic power men have become more similar to the Pythagorean recluses or to the vindictive and prudent deities of the Syrian and of the west. They declare war to the female principle and lose spiritual contact both with the world and with Gods. They pay the deities by making offerings, thinking that their merits and sins could be equated to money. In this way, instead of purification they come to harbour feelings of guilt and weakness.”

“When did this began, father? Why did it happen?”

“It happend a very long time ago! When for the first time a human being took in his hands a tool, a weapon, when he created the wheel. Then he lost faith in himself and began to depend on invented instruments. In this way he parted even further from his natural, inner powers and weakened them. Women lived differently and preserved themselves better, they became stronger than man in their soul, in their love and in the knowledge of their essence. Orfica thinks this way... That’s sufficient for now, night has came, it is time to go...”

Tais`s breathing had fastened because of her agitation. She went after some men through a small cavity into the rock pylon, above the entrance to the slope of a hill tunnel. For some time they walked silently, carefully stepping in the darkness. Then Tais heard the bearded poet ask the philosopher:

“How are we to understand the prediction that we, Hellens, in spite of our great knowledge and art, should not try to create new instruments and machines, which could separate us from the feelings of Eros, beauty and poetry?”

“It seems to me that, yes, although perhaps we do not realize it, this is wise”

“Is it wise?”

“I think it it would be a great loss if the entire world separated the poet from the philosopher, feelings from mind, and substituted the perception of the punishment coming from an onmiscent and omnipotent God, separate him from living nature, and put in their place policies, the protection of walls and machines.”

“But this will be a glorious loss! We will be glorified for centuries!”

“You are right! Hellas will remain an amazing dream for all people who will have to confront this for thousands years, regardless of all our shortcomings and errors! Let’s get on with it!”

The wise man of Delos stopped and came to Tais. Getera froze. The philosopher smiled encouragingly and took her into his arms, after whispering something to the poet, who disappeared through a lateral passage. The philosopher took Tais into a very high round room, lit only by smoking torches made of aromatic wood. He waved his hand and immediately invisible drums started to rattle. They beat loudly, accelerating their rhythm. Soon ripples of sounds seemed to pierce Tais, making her whole body shudder with their rhythm and power. The philosopher bent towards the Athenian and, in a loud voice, ordered:

“Take off everything, including yur sandals.”

Tais obeyed without hesitation. The wise man from Delos encouragingly caressed her hair and ordered her to take off also her hairpins and ribbons.

“In you I can see the blood of the Great Goddess. Come to the center of circle.”

Tais came to the center, still shaken by the sounds. The wise man of Delos disappeared. Suddenly, as if coming through the wall, appeared nine women waring crowns made of red flowers, naked as Tais. They were not Egyptians, but also not Hellenes. One of them, elder, strong, with a big breast, with a big hat in her lightly curly hair and a dark bronze skin ran towards Tais. The other women stood in a circle around them.

“Do what we are doing!” ordered the elder woman in good Greek after taking the Athenian by the hand. The other women walked in line, raising their elbows and holding each other by their loose hair. As the rhythm accelerated they started to run. After leaving each others hand, they started to twirl, then froze and then, suddently, having twirled in Igdibme, started the wild dance of the Trojan goddesses, moving their thighs furiously, throwing their heads backwards and stretching their hands, as if they were ready to embrace the entire ‘Oikoumeni’, the mystical place.
