It is usually translated, in its metaphorical meaning, as celibacy, which means to be the Brahman’s, the priest’s student. We approach the knowledge of the divine through the help of people who already hold this knowledge. We cannot reach it on our own. In the beginning of the spiritual path, we need a “push” forward; we need a Guru, some higher knowledge, without which we are incapable even of thinking that it is possible to live in a different way. When, by receiving this knowledge, we understand the purpose and the possibilities of life, we are in need of someone to awaken us, to “push” us and offer new advice to us. However, the Teacher does not lead a person individually, personally. The enlightened are few and their aims are great. The Teacher only works with a group of people, who decidedly follow this path and who help each other. Very few people are capable of achieving on their own liberation from the prison created by the collective unconscious of society, and if you have already tried it, then you must understand how difficult it is.

The help is waiting for you. If you wish to advance in the spiritual world and help even a small group of people, the Teacher is ready to help you. The blessed tutor living in the world is taught the reality of this world. The whole universe becomes a teacher for him/her. Every situation, every person helps the tutor understand something inside and express it. The tutor sees the endless, the absolute in all the places and things. Even now you can use this life and understand yourself. Every obstacle that comes in your way is not from the outside, but it is your inner imperfection. When you overcome an external obstacle, you actually overcome an internal one. During this period, the student usually takes an oath of abstinence, which is not compulsory.

What is most important is the control of the sexual energy. The sexual energy is the creative force of energy, the kundalini, which raises our consciousness to the Divine. Many people are carried away by this energy and destroy themselves, falling into profligacy. This power drives the person to create a family and to suffer for love and care. If you harness this energy, you will be able to acquire great strength and abilities for the development of creation and the evolution of the spirit.

Remember the feeling that you had wings, when you were children, and how you changed after your first sexual experience. Look how people are withered, how they cannot use their power correctly. You can say that sex offers great pleasure! However, the correct control of the energy can offer a sense of continual bliss, regardless sex. In ancient India there was tantra-yoga, the path without sex. This knowledge is about the correct sexual encounter, Maidhuna, which consists of the following stages:

1. Maidhuna, during which one should not have an orgasm,

2. Sexual contact, which should not end in tiredness, but on the contrary, it should raise the energy and stimulation,

3. It should be practiced only between two people who share the same perception of life and serve spiritual purposes.

Tantra is more difficult but more effective than celibacy. The level of consciousness of the person depends on the level of energy. Therefore, by holding the energy, one raises one’s level of consciousness, so as to acquire the Spirit. The waste of the energy in sex, the seeking of love and the desire to take care of somebody, keeps people away from real happiness, which is dependent upon nothing.
